Week 34 Round Up - Sunday 5 May


We start this week in the Fred Jolly Cup Final between Burrage Blues and Springhill United. Springhill were trying to put the previous week’s final defeat behind them, while Burrage were trying to win silverware in their first season. Goals from Michael Power, Joel Weston and James Edgar meant that it was lightening striking twice for Springhill as they went down 3-0 to the lethal Blues.


In the afternoon Bert Holloway Cup Final second half strikes from Richard Monan and Douane West secured a second Cup win for FC Royals, this time over FC Forza Greenwich.

In the Amalgamated Lifts Limited Premier Division, champions Welling Town A secured a 3-2 win over Jam thanks to goals from Sam Bailey, Taylor Robinson and Elliot Usher for Welling. Kai Bichard and Reion McFarlane on target for Jam. The game between Barnehurst and Sabanoh was abandoned and awaits an LFA investigation.

In the Supreme Engraving Senior Division and odd day for Bayswater RK as their opponents Blackfen United couldn’t field a side so the 3 points came their way, but a hastily arranged top of the table clash against Under The Radar was scheduled instead and it was the league leaders who picked up the points in this one with a 3-0 win thanks to goals from Touloupe Jonah (2) and Manny Brown. Long Lane lost ground after a shock 2-1 defeat to South East Athletic Maroon thanks to Dan Lott and Ronald Kemokai goals.

In the Danson Property Services Division One, just the one scheduled game as Phoenix Knights picked up the points against Woolwich Spartans who decided to start the summer early.

In the ABA Technical Division Two, Russellers got some sort of revenge against their Cup Final conquerors Bexley Athletic with a 4-0 win. Goals from Connor Edwards, Scott Holland, Craig Newell and Bradley Shepherd. Woolwich Royals are ending the season on a high after an 8-3 win over Advent Royals. Yavor Hristov bagged 4 goals, with Shane Pritchard, Arben Qenani, Darren Woodvine and Mark Rickwood all also weighing in. Papa Kwame Owusu scores twice for Advent with Rommell Simmons and Lawrence Boamah also on target but it wasn’t enough.

In the Summerhill Music Division Three, Eltham Lions continue their hunt down of leaders AFC Kingfisher with a 7-0 win over AFC Sporting Greenwich. Ryan Norris and Jordan Patterson both bagging a brace a piece. Luke Wren, Ryan Hobson and Kai Mirza all also on target as AFC Sporting Greenwich still fail to win a game. Orpington Eagles Reserves are determined to hang onto that second spot with a 2-0 win over Lessa FXI thanks to strikes from Adam Chapman and Gary Pryde.
