Week 22 Round Up - Sunday 10 February 2019

Sorry it’s a bit late but here goes….

We start in the Plumstead Challenge Cup and Welling Town A travelled to Addington to face Sanderstead from the Croydon Municipal Sunday League, and it was the end of the line for the Croydon team after goals from Sam Bailey (2), Jordan McTigue, Taylor Robinson and Keegan Robinson gave Welling Town A a 5-1 win. Thank you to Sanderstead for entering and best wishes for the rest of the season. Next year maybe? Meanwhile Welling’s reward is a Quarter Final tie against Barnehurst.

Also in the PCC, Russellers nudged Greenwich Park Rangers out in a close 3-2 win. Rhys Edwards, Luke Mercer and Conor Edwards on target for Russellers while goals from James Simmons and Lee Knight weren’t enough as Russellers progress to a Quarter Final tie against Baldon Sports LKSL or Turk Ocagi Limassol Russellers. In the remaining PCC tie of the day, Woolwich Royals bowed out to Senior Division opponents with a hat-trick from Femi Orenuga, along with a brace a piece from Daniel McCarthy and Ryan Brown gave Long Lane a 7-1 win. Shane Pritchard with the goal for the Royals. Holders Bayswater RK await in the Quarter Finals.

In the Dewar Shield, a twelve goal thriller between Barnehurst and Woolwich 90. Goals from Luke Coleman (3), Chris Johnson (2), Andrew Browne and Tom Morgan for Barnehurst saw them through 7-5, despite Tremain Brown and Danny Edwards both scoring twice for Woolwich and Mustapha Gray also getting on the scoresheet. Bayswater in the Quarter Final is the reward. Already in the Quarter Finals were The Oddfellows Arms, Sabanoh 97, Turk Ocagi Limasol Russellers and Eltham Lions. It’s The Oddfellows and Turk Ocagi who progress to the Semis after the former hit Sabanoh for five thanks to two goals a piece from Richie Hamill and James Sutherland along with Coy Hardy’s strike. Elijah Kargbo with the consolation for Sabanoh. Barnehurst or Bayswater await in the Semi Finals. So in the other Semi Final will be Turk Ocagi Limasol Russellers after they inflicted a rare defeat on Eltham Lions. Carl Oblitey struck twice, Tijani Eshilokun and Hamid Bangura once in their 4-1 win. Jordan Patterson on target for the Lions. Welling Town A or Under The Radar await in the Semi.

In the Alliance Cup, all conquering FC Royals got to their first WESFA Final, after a 4-1 Semi Final win over South East Lads. Jerel Morris struck twice with Kyei Banton and Douane West also on target. Phoenix Knights or Welling Town await in the Final.

In the Second Round of The Bert Holloway Cup, a nail biter at Mottingham Playing Fields in appalling conditions as AFC Kingfisher and Peckham Rye of Division 3 needed penalties to separate each other. Keenan Rochester scored twice for Peckham Rye with David Scott and Patryk Smereczynski for AFC Kingfisher who held their nerve to progress 2-0 in a low scoring shootout. FC Forza Greenwich or Woolwich Royals await in the next round.

Into the league action and the Amalgamated Lifts Limited Premier Division, two goals a piece from Sam McNally & Steven Smith along with strikes from WIlliam Muckle, Anthony Sharpe and Dean Warner gave Footscray Lions a 7-2 win at Burrage Blues. Daniel Phillips and Jay Jervis were on target for Burrage.

In the Supreme Engraving Senior Division, Springhill United had a goal bonanza smashing 10 past a shocked South East Athletic Maroon. Aaron & Luke Miller (2), Daniel Quarshie (2), Marcus Neilson, Patrick Ward & Connor Evans all on target for Springhill while Chris Rostek was on target for SEAM. Bayswater RK were among the goals as well, as they faced an improving Orpington Eagles side, but despite the recent improvement they were to be no match for Bayswater who ran out 7-2 winners. Jamie Groves, Antony Putruss-Schnell and Sulaiman Charm all scored twice with Tunde Aderonmu also on target for Bayswater. Mitchell Row and Liam Clubb-Cannon on target for Eagles. Finally goals from Conor Maloney and Reece Williams were not enough as Mottingham Forest slipped to a 3-2 home defeat to Catford Wanderers.

In the Danson Property Services Division One, an absolutely bonkers game at Hall Place where Woolwich Spartans beat Junior Reds Athletic 13-5! Eni Penev scored four, Georgie Gonchev (2), Adam Roberts (2), Alan Selby (2), Tom Duffield, Nicholas Joel and Matthew Power (1 each) were the scorers for Spartans, while Ben Malyon hit a hat-trick for the Reds along with Paul Christodolou and Jack Whelan strikes as Reds score five and suffer heavy defeat. A hat-trick from James Purkiss saw Bostall Rangers beat FC Forza by the odd goal in seven, Bradley Robinson and Francisco Garrigos both on target for Forza. SEL and Phoenix Knights shared 6 goals and the points. Sammy Harpin on target for SEL with a brace, while Lewis Hudson, Rob Dennis and Zack William-James were the scorers for Knights.

Into the ABA Technical Division Two, and Danson Albion beat Advent Royals 6-2 in the only game in the division. Mark Bennett and Charlie Edwards both scoring twice, David Keen and Martyn Brady also on target. Malasa Kaloshie and Andre Virgin were the scorers for Advent.

In the Summerhill Music Division Three, Orpington Eagles Reserves are showing the first team how it’s done with a 10-1 win over Heath. Laurence Lefevre hit a hat-trick, Byron Bourne and Andre Chapman both hit two a piece, while Ross Smith and Christian Walsh were also on target. In the last game of the day, Vanbrugh hit AFC Sporting Greenwich for 5 Oluwafemi Aromaona, Richard Jerman, Lewis Maddison, Isaac Omoruyi and Mark Eaton on target while Jason Mingay scored the consolation.
