Week 25 Round Up - Sunday 3rd March 2019

Starting this week with the President’s Cup Semi Final and congratulations to Barnehurst on reaching the final after coming from behind to beat league leaders Welling Town A. Andrew Browne hit a hat trick including two from, the penalty spot, and Ben Short hit a brace to set up a final tie at VCD against Jam on 14th April. Sam Bailey , Jordan McTigue and TJ Jaiyeola with the goals for Welling.

In the Win Jones Memorial Bowl congratulations to Springhill United as they handed out a Semi Final 9-2 thrashing to Erith Athletic to set up a final tie against either Turk Ocagi Limassol Russellers or Bayswater RK. Patrick Ward and Luke Miller both hit trebles, while Patrick Haverty and Aaron Miller were also among the goals.

In the Peter Smith Memorial Cup, Bayswater RK secured an upset in the Quarter Final with a 3-2 win over Premier Division Sabanoh 97. Tunde Aderonmu on target again with a brace, and Edi Borges sealing the win to set up a Semi Final tie against Woolwich 90 or South East Athletic Maroon. Wilson Brown and David Noel on target for Sabanoh.

In the Bert Holloway Cup, a Daniel Hassett double sets up a Semi Final tie against FC Royals after a 2-1 over Russellers. Sam Wilkins on target for Russellers.

In the 3rd Round of the Fred Jolly Memorial Cup. Division 3 youtubers Peckham Rye faced the daunting task of a trip to all conquering FC Royals, crashing out 7-2. Duane West with a hat-trick, although he’s claiming a 4th after a shot going wide was deflected in, plus strikes from Jerel Morris, Richard Monan & Joshua Flower. Anthony Daniels and Charlie Eldridge with the goals for Peckham. Also progressing are Beacons after two goals from Charlie Tagg and one each from Callum Flynn, Jay Lovelock & John Rowley secured a 5-3 win at Danson Albion. Thomas Cunnion, Tom Stanton & Jon Wayment on target for Danson. Beacons now host Burrage Blues in the Quarter Final while FC Royals face a tricky tie at Footscray Lions.

In the Amalgamated Lifts Limited Premier Division, Burrage Blues open the gap between themselves in 6th and Woolwich 90 in seventh with a 4-2 win. Daniel Phillips scoring twice, Ricky Hepburn and James Edgar once for the Blues, while Tremaine Browne and Danny Edwards were on target for Woolwich. The Oddfellows Arms go level on points with Welling Town A, but behind on goal difference at the top of the table after goals from Coy Hardy and Richie Hamill secured a 2-1 win against Jam. Clement Edewor with the consolation for Jam who remain 4th.

In the Supreme Engraving Senior Division it’s tight at the top as Long Lane secure a 6-2 win over Orpington Eagles. Tony Stanley (2), Ryan Brown, Stuart Berry, Carlos Fairweather & Kenneth Orenuga all target as the Lane go level on points with leaders Bayswater RK, but a staggering goal difference between the two of 17 goals is like being a extra point behind. James Brand and Mitchell Row were on target for Eagles who are in 9th spot. Under the Radar miss the chance to join them at the top after being held 2-2 at Turk Ocagi Limasol Russellers. Thomas Ngegba on target for UTR with Tijani Eshilokun and Habib Jakkari hitting the net for TOL. In the mid-table battle, South East Athletic Maroon travelled to Catford Wanderers and found their form with a 6-1 win, Chris Rostek hit a hat-trick, Dan Lott a brace for Maroon while Ashley McLean-Elliot bagged the only goal for Catford. Blackfen Rovers hit sorry Mottingham Forest for seven thanks to two goals a piece, for Shaun Busby, James Goodman & Daniel Bannell, plus Luke Faulkner getting in on the act as well. Jamie and Tom Clarke both replied for Mottingham to make the score line 7-2.

In the Danson Property Services Division One, leaders Welling Town are 5 points clear at the top after an 8-0 win over FC Plasma. Frederick Agyemang hit a hat-trick, with Markus Marcus and Lewis Armstrong both scoring twice. Mottingham Park Rangers are in second spot with a 5 point gap of their own behind them, after goals from David Ricketts and David Harvey gave them a 2-0 win over Phoenix Knights. Elsewhere both SEL and Woolwich Spartans failed to field sides against FC Forza Greenwich and South East Lads respectively.

In the ABA Technical Division Two, Abbeymead are up to 3rd spot after a 4-2 win over Woolwich Royals. Joshua Dunham scored twice, Karlton Lynch once and a Kevin Pinner spot kick for Abbeymead. Yavor Hristov and Arben Qenani with the goals from the Royals. Goals from Sean Jobson and Robert Hughes gave Bexley Athletic a 2-2 draw with Meridian Sports who drop to 5th. Max Foreman and Jamie Chalkin with the goals for Meridian.

In the Summerhill Music Division Three, the top two faced off and it was leaders AFC Kingfisher who came out on top against second placed Orpington Eagles Reserves. Jack Spurling hit a brace, Jack Davidson and Dominik Smereczynski securing a 4-1 win. Laurence Lefevre with the goal for Orpington. Lessa FXI are third after a hat trick from Jordan Hector secured a 3-1 win over Baldon Sports Reserves who had Ben Walker on target. Vanbrugh also get three points after Seven Acre failed to field a side.
