Week 35 Update - Sunday 30th April

Kent Wanderers and Club Santacruzense Des Londres were the headline makers this weekend, with Kent Wanderers winning the Len Wareham Memorial Trophy 3-1 against Junior Reds Athletic, with a double from Scott Hollingsworth and one from Ricky Gould in the morning game at Dartford's Princes Park Stadium. Paul Christodoulou scored the consolation goal for Junior Reds.

The afternoon game saw Club Santacruzense overcome league leaders to lift the Dewar Shield, 4-1 against Sabanoh 97, a feat that even hit the headlines in the newspapers in Madeira, Portugal!

A mention as well for a truly remarkable achievement by Woolwich 90 of the Supreme Engraving Senior Division, having made the final of the London Sunday Junior Cup against Metropolitan Sunday League side Greenhouse London who managed a last minute equaliser after Woolwich 90 took a 1st minute lead, and then snatched the victory with the last kick of the game in the 94th minute.

One game in the Amalgamated Lifts Limited Premier Division saw goals from Kwame Mensah-Sarpong, Ashley Headley and Conor McMahon give Jam a 3-1 win over Long Lane despite Harry Rushworth's strike for Long Lane.

No fixtures in the Supreme Engraving Senior Division, so onto Division One, and Teviot Rangers secured a shock 3-2 win over league champions Woodside Celtic, goals from Jake Darling, Ryan Jobson and Jack Kenndey securing the points. Bradley Killick and Lee Turner the scorers for Woodside Celtic. Elsewhere Abbey Wood secured a 4-2 win over Woolwich Royals although no one can be credited with goals as Full Time hasn't been done, while Old Roan failed to field a side against New London.

Just the one game in Division Two, saw Bayswater RK secure a 6-1 win over bottom of the table Meridian Sports. Joey White with a hat-trick, while Joseph Grant-Hines, Jason Gardiner & Kyle Thomson were also on target for the division runners up.

The Invitational Cups are getting to the qualifying matches, and in the Bert Holloway Trophy North Group, Turk Ocagi Limasol Russellers kept their chances alive with a 3-2 win over group leaders Phoenix Knights, Nicholas Golding, Ceyhan Oztumer and Tugay Topju on target for the Premier Division side while Jack Cox scored twice for Phoenix Knights.

In the East Group Mottingham Park Rangers remain top after a 2-0 win over Bexley Athletic thanks to a brace from Jordan Johnson which guarantees their place in the Semi Final, who they will play remains to be decided. Eltham SF continued to play catch up with a double header match against FC Plasma whose season ended today. FC Plasma winning one match 3-2 thanks to gaols from David Coker (2) and Oliver Vines, with Jordan Davids and Charlie Gaish the other. The second match was a more one sided affair with a hat-trick from Charlie Gaish and a brace from Bradley Simms giving Eltham SF a 5-0 win.

In the Leader Trophy South Group, Springhill United Reserves secured a semi final spot with a 5-1 win at Vanbrugh, Steve Marsh, Moses Omoruyi, Daniel Quarshie, Charlie Troke and Jean-Luc Daley all on target for the away side. In the West Group Mottingham Forest needed a win to secure a semi-final spot but Borussia Heath had other ideas, running out 5-1 winners, Shawn Anderson, Sean Howell, Blair Anderson, George Leach and Allan Segers on target for the home side while James Moore scored the consolation for Forest, who now need Meridian Sports to beat Borussia Heath on 7th May to qualify.
