While the Easter Bunny was hopping around South London filling bellies with chocolate, some hardy souls were out voluntarily catching up on their fixtures.
In the Bert Holloway Cup, Group 3, Abbeymead needed a win against FC Plasma to progress to the Semi Final. Goals from Enoch Osei, Emmanuel Paul, James Fafiyebi & Jardell Conteh gave Abbeymead a 4-2 win, Bobby Rochford and Lewis Donnelley on target for Plasma who now cannot win the group.
In the Supreme Engraving Senior Division, a massive fixture at the top of the table saw Hornfair Athletic and The Oddfellows Arms go head to head in a double header. Early goals, both from Referee Dave Hooker playing advantages saw The Oddfellows storm into a 2-0 lead but Hornfair are made of stern stuff and goals from Sam Bailey and Lewis Oduku sealed the comeback in the last 10 minutes. In game two a solitary goal gave The Oddfellows the 3 points, when the defenders were waiting for an offside flag which never came from their own Assistant. The Oddfellows remain in second spot, one point behind Woodside Celtic after the leaders claimed 3 points in their game against Blackfen United after 2 goals from Joseph Bardwell gave them a 2-1 win. Glen Bannell on target for Blackfen.
In the Danson Property Services Division One, two goals from Jon Chorley and one from Russell Hodges saw Welling Town secure a 4-2 win over Maroon XI who had Pod Biggane and Jack Langsford on target. Elsewhere a shock at the top as Danson Albion secured a 1-0 win over Long Lane A.
In the Summerhill Music Division 3, loads of goals as AFC Kingfisher warmed up for this Sunday's cup final with a 3-3 draw against Heath. Dominik Smereczynski, Will Stent and James Pearson on target for the home side, while a brace from Blair Anderson and one from Allen Seagers secured a point for the visitors.
An added bonus was some midweek football and Heath made it two games in two days but it was too much to play a Premier Division side in the Bert Holloway Cup the day after a 3-3 draw. Goals from Liam Chubb-Cannon (3), James Brand (2), Nathan Hunter (2) & Stefan Jones gave Orpington Eagles an 8-1 win. Blair Anderson with the consolation for Heath. Also in Cup Action, Springhill United Reserves caused an upset as a Jean-Luc Daley hat-trick gave them a 3-2 win over Bexley Athletic. Robert Hughes and Oliver O'Brien on target for Bexley. A win for St Michaels on Sunday will secure a place in the Semi Finals.
