FC Plasma Into Cup Final While Shocks Galore Elsewhere

In the Len Wareham Cup, FC Plasma make through to the final thanks to goals from David Coker, Aaron Feagan and John Townrow gave them a 3-0 win over Bexley Athletic. Plasma now face Mottingham Park Rangers in the Final at VCD Athletic FC on 15th April. Buy your tickets here.

Shocks in the Plumstead Challenge Cup as two Premier Division sides get dumped out by lower division sides. The biggest shock came as Long Lane B crashed out 2-0 to Bayswater RK of the First Division. No goal scorers recorded. Eltham SF of the Senior Division also produced a giant killing, sending Woolwich 90 crashing out 4-2. No goalscorers for them either! Bayswater will face the winners of Hornfair Athletic and Abbey Wood in the Semi Final, while Eltham SF face Footscray Lions for a place in the final. 

It was Footscray Lions who turned heads in the Amalgamated Lifts Limited Premier Division, a Jamie Williams goal earning them a 1-0 win against reigning champions Club Santacruzense De Londres. A result that leaves Club Santacruzense in 3rd spot, 9 points off of top spot with 2 games in hand. Footscray Lions are into 2nd spot, 4 points off of leaders Eltham Phoenix B who themselves recorded a 5-0 win over Springhill United, with help from a Danny Russell hat-trick. Theo Johnson and Taylor Robinson also on target. 

In the Supreme Engraving Senior Division, with The Oddfellows Arms in Cup action, Woodside Celtic are back to the top of the table with a 5-2 win over Phoenix Knights, Joseph Bardwell with a hat-trick, along with Bradley Killick and Michael Scowen goals. Jack Cox and David Guthrie on target for Knights. The day's only other league game in that division saw a rejuvenated Turk Ocagi Limasol Russellers side beat Blackfen United thanks to an N'diri N'dili goal. 

In the Danson Property Services Division One, Kent Wanderers in second spot closed the gap on leaders Abbey Wood with a 7-2 win over Maroon XI, Chris McGinty scoring 4 goals, while Anthony Putrus-Schnell and Dollard Zola were also on target, against the Fair Play finalists who found themselves down to 10 men after Matthew Smetzer was sent off for violent conduct. Chris Rostek scored a brace for Maroon. Elsewhere FC Forza Greenwich and Junior Reds Spartans shared 4 goals and the points. Frankie Battles and Daniel Bunce on target for Forza while Christian Hesse and Aram Mulwe were the scorers for Reds. 

In the ABA Technical Division Two, just the one game as Eltham Phoenix A beat Springhill United Reserves 4-0. 

In the Summerhill Music Division Three, Heath were the big winners with Allan Segers scoring twice, Luke Lumsden, Blair Anderson, Conor Kennedy & Anthony King all also on target as they beat Mottingham Forest 6-2. Goals from Hasan Gunduz and Kris Ruffell gave Lessa FXI a shock 2-0 win over 4th placed AFC Kingfisher.

In the Fred Jolly Cup, the Orpington Eagles cup hoodoo struck again, as they went out 3-0 to first division Long Lane A. Jerron Cragg with a brace, and Jordan Clark with one. They now host The Oddfellows Arms in a difficult Semi Final after the Arms progressed past Welling Town 4-1. Jake McIntyre scored twice, with Richie Hamill and James Sutherland also on target. Hornfair Athletic also produced a giant killing beating Premier Division side Sabanoh 97 4-1 with Brima Daramy hitting all four. The will now face the winners of Phoenix Knights and FC Plasma in the Semi Final.

In the Bert Holloway Cup Group 1, St Michaels stormed to the top with a 6-1 win over former leaders Abbey Wood. No scorers recorded. A win against Bexley Athletic on 8th April will seal a Semi Final spot. In Group 2, Woolwich Spartans were made to work for all 3 points against Vanbrugh, but did so in a 3-2 win. Adam Roberts with 2 goals and Eni Penev with one to send Spartans 6 points clear at the top, however Orpington Eagles are in second spot 6 points behind with 2 games in hand. In Group 3, goals from Adam Soyemi, Jardell Conteh and James Fafiyebi see Abbeymead top of the tree with a 3-1 win over Eltham Lions, however FC Plasma are just 3 points behind with a game in hand. Bostall Old Boys are in 3rd spot 3 points off the top after a 3-2 win over a Woolwich Royals side that just can't find their mojo in this competition. Two goals from Daniel Hassett and one from Adam Williams sealing the win for Bostall. In Group 4 Junior Reds Athletic finish their group stages on top after a thrilling 5-5 draw with second placed Mottingham Park Rangers. 3 goals from Ben Malyon and two from Paul Christodoulou for the Reds, while Rangers had Alfie Gosnell, David Harvey, Stuart Jordeson, Leith Burke and Jordan Johnson all on target. Mottingham Park Rangers now need to beat Lessa FXI by 7 clear goals to seal their Semi Final spot. In the other game Baldon Sports Reserves got their first win beating Advent Royals 2-1 thanks to goals from Joshua Evans and Billy Hosmer, but both teams only had pride to play for.
