Week 18 - Sunday 7 January 2018

Seven days into 2018 and goals galore in the Plumstead Challenge Cup, sadly not for AFC Kingfisher of Division 3 who found in form Hornfair Athletic too much and bowed out 10-0. Lewis Oduko the main tormenter with 4 goals, while Ashley Kempster grabbed a hat-trick, Sam Bailey a brace. The final goal scored by Brima Daramy. Hornfair now take on Phoenix Knights in the 3rd round after they progress courtesy of Thamesmead being unable to field a side. 

More goals in the Dewar Shield as Premier Division Eltham Phoenix B brushed aside Division One FC Forza Greenwich 8-1. Jordan McTigue, William Muckle and Ali Musa all hitting two, while Theo Johnson and Sahid Kamara scored the others. Shakeel Zuberi with the consolation for Forza. Eltham now host the winners of Mottingham Park Rangers and St Michaels in the Quarter Finals. Also into the Quarters are Club Santacruzense de Londres, who edged past Division One side Abbey Wood 3-2. Filipe Abreu, Abel Viera and Alejandro Pulgarin on target for the Premier Division side, while David Bacon and Chris Hart were o target for Abbey Wood. Santacruzense will now face the winners of Woolwich 90 and Blackfen United. Two goals from Reion McFarlane helped Jam past New London and into the Quarters with a 4-2 win. Conor McMahon and Michael Soile wth the others. Jam now face the tricky journey to Kidbrooke to face current league leaders Long Lane B who progressed past Maroon XI 3-1. Jack Carthy scored twice, and Michael O'Kane was on target from the spot. 

Lots of ties in the Fred Jolly Memorial Cup, Eltham Lions securing a 2-1 first leg win against Danson Albion with no goalscorers being recorded. Two goals from John Richards, plus goals from James Brand and Elijah Jones see Orpington Eagles take a 4-1 lead into their 2nd leg against Baldon Sports WESFA, Paul Joy with the reply for Baldon. A hat-trick from Faisal Qadri, plus goals from Mike Hepburn (2) and Jamil Musa see Junior Reds Spartans take a 6-2 first leg lead over Lessa FXI, Hasan Gunduz and Scott Hayward with the lifelines for Lessa FXI. All square between Teviot Rangers and Welling Town as they shared four goals, Owen Jeavons scored twice for Teviot, while John Chorley and Russell Hodges were on target for "The Boots". A first leg shock as Division Two Eltham Phoenix A, travelled to Senior Division Oddfellows Arms and came away with a 3-2 win. Can they hold it in the second leg? Joseph Webb was the Phoenix hero with 2 goals, while the third came courtesy of an own goal. Coy Hardy and Luke Gray the scorers for The Oddfellows. No slip ups for Springhill United and a potential upset against Division 3 leaders Woolwich Royals, as they romped into a 4-0 half time lead. The game finishing 6-0 with goals from Patrick Ward (2), Harry Nelson, Marcus Neilson, Danny Wright and Danny Parmenter. A Hat-trick from Jack Oliver helped Woolwich Spartans into a 7-1 first leg lead against Junior Reds Athletic, the other goals coming from John Black, Andrew Keys, Eni Penev and Adam Roberts. Also hitting 7 in their first leg were Kent Wanderers who take a 7-2 lead into their second leg against Vanbrugh. Ricky Gould bagged a hot-trick and Jamie Groves a brace while Anthony Putrus-Schnell and Dollard Zola also weighed in with a goal a piece.

Into the Second Round of the Fred Jolly are FC Plasma who beat Mottingham Forest 6-2 (11-5 on aggregate), thanks to goals from Aaron Feagan (2), Lewis Donnelley, Leigh Ives, Jamie Southin and Louie Rowbotham. David Shaw and Kieran Gilbert with the goals for Forest. Bayswater RK join them with a 4-0 (11-2 aggregate) win over Springhill United Reserves. Matt Gardiner, Ryan Styles, Kirk Leadbeater and Luke Parkinson with the goals. Bexley Athletic completed the comeback of the round having lost the first leg to Heath 5-3, by winning the second leg 3-0 after extra time. Elton Lewis (2) & Rennel George the heroes.

In league action and the Amalgamated Lifts Limited Premier Division saw just the one game with Footscray Lions beating St Michaels 4-1. Goals coming from Mark Fowler, John Healy, Luke Smith and Matthew Knuckey. Stacie Butcher with the consolation.

In the Supreme Engraving Senior Division, Joseph Bardwell scored twice, as Woodside Celtic secured a 6-2 win over Bostall Old Boys. Alexandru Loan Bobeica, Bradley Killick and Dennis Williams. Peter Tyrrell scored twice for Bostall. An amazing comeback at Harris Eltham as Eltham SF let a 4-0 lead slip to draw 5-5 with Blackfen United. Toby Brown (2), Jordan Davids, and Charlie Gaish were all on target for Eltham, while Lee De Maertelaere, Daniel Tidnam, James Tidnam, Glenn Bannell & Liam Carter completed the comeback for Blackfen.
