Week 34 Update - Sunday 23 April

For this week's update we actually start midweek, with a Amalgamated Lifts Limited Premier Division clash between Club Santacruzense de Londres and Springhill United. Santacruzense playing catch up, and still with a shout of the league title, ran out 3-0 winners in freezing temperatures at Meridian Sports Club. Vitor Abreu, Kruma Cruz and Rafael Pinto were on target.

Onto the Sunday action and Santacruzense were in winning action again, Joel Ramos scoring twice, with Abel Viera and Vitor Abreu also among the goals in a 5-0 win over Footscray Lions a game which completes Footscray Lions season and secures a respectable mid-table 5th spot. Elsewhere Jam started their warm up for the Presidents Cup Final with a 7-0 thrashing of Springhill United. Substitute Myles Alexander doing the damage with 5 goals, while Reion McFarlane and Clement Adewor weighed in with a goal each, to keep Jam in with a chance of second spot.

In the Supreme Engraving Senior Division, congratulations to Woolwich 90 who sealed the title with a double header win over Danson Albion, Luv Kapoor scoring the only goal in the first game, while David Espanosa scored twice, while Nick Jackson and Renato Marinalli also scored in a 4-0 win. Bostall Old Boys secured a shock 6-0 win over Cutty Sark (Thamesmead) in their final league game of the season, to put a dent in Cutty Sark's runners up spot hopes. Peter Tyrrell scored a hat-trick, with Terry Tyrrell, Adam Williams and Danny Harris also scored. In the day's other match Plumstead failed to field a side against Eltham Phoenix.

In Division One, Congratulations to Woodside Celtic the Champions. Cemented with a 2-1 win over Abbey Wood, Bradley Killick scoring twice.

In Division Two a massive game at the top of the table, however not as big as it would have been a couple of weeks back. Bayswater RK in 2nd spot hosted champions Kent Wanderers, and recorded Kent Wanderers first league defeat of the season with a 2-1 win. Robin McMahon and Joey White scoring the goals to guarantee the home side runners up spot. Junior Reds Athletic finish the league season in 5th spot thanks to a 4-1 win over Meridian Sports. James Beasley scoring twice, with Joe Latimore and Ben Malyon also on target, to end a sorry league season for Meridian Sports. Advent Royals season continues to fade out with a 3-0 defeat at Borussia Heath. Shawn Anderson, Luke Lumsden and George Matthews on target for Borussia who finish the season in 10th spot.

In the Bert Holloway Trophy North Group, Turk Ogaci Limassol Russellers and Woolwich Spartans played out a 2-2 draw Nicholas Golding and N'diri N'Dili on target for the home side while Habib Jakkari and an Adam Roberts penalty were the scorers for Woolwich Spartans, while they could have snatched all 3 points but for a splendid Ismail Gozde penalty save. In the East Group, a hat-trick from David Harvey and an Esmail El Khabaz goal secured a Mottingham Park Rangers win over FC Plasma by the odd goal in 7, Steven Armstrong, Lee Cullen and Aaron Feagan with the Plasma goals. Eltham SF also secured a win, with a 2-1 victory over Bexley Athletic with Bradley Simms and Jedidiah Brown on target, while Elton Lewis scored the consolation goal for Bexley.

In the Leader Trophy, South Group, Jorge Orrin and Arben Qenani were among the goals as Woolwich Royals secured a 5-2 win over Vanbrugh, while Lessa FXI and Springhill United Reserves shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw, Gary McKenna with a brace for Lessa & Steve Marsh and Daniel Quarshie on target for Springhill. In the West Group, AFC Kingfisher secure their Semi Final place with a 4-2 win over Mottingham Forest. Decan Feerick with a hat-trick before an own goal sealed the win. Michael Owens and James Moore on target for Forest who need to win their last game to guarantee a place in the Semi Finals.
