Week 24 Update - Sunday 12 February

In the Plumstead Challenge Cup, David Bacon was the hero for Abbey Wood as they progressed to a Quarter Final tie against Bayswater RK of division 2 with a 5-0 win. over Danson Albion. Bacon scored a hat-trick with Grant Mayhew also on target. An Own Goal compounded Albion's misery.

In the Dewar Shield, Sabanoh 97 showed the reasons they are currently top of the league, by hitting Division One Baldon Sports Charlton for 6. Bankole Kamara was the main man for the home side, scoring 3, while Abbie Jabbie, Mohamed Kargbo and Issac Walker were also on target. Radwan Aman scored Baldon's consolation. Sabanoh will now travel to either Bostall Old Boys or Springhill United in the Semi Final.

The Win Jones Memorial Bowl saw Woolwich 90 continue their all conquering season with a 3-1 win over Maroon XI. James Noel scoring all three to set up a Semi Final tie against Danson Albion.

With Sabanoh in Dewar Shield action and Jam in postponed London Cup duties Club Santacruzense closed in on the top spot with a hard fought 3-1 win over Welling Town Woolwich. Joel Ramos scored twice and Vitor Abreu once, while Joseph Tamlyn scored the consolation for Welling. Springhill United could reach the heights of last week and went down 4-0 to Long Lane thanks to strikes from Tom Rush, Steven Smith and a double from Jack Webber. Another hat-trick from Luke Smith saw Footscray Lions beat New Life United 5-3, Jamal Ossai and Mark Fowler scoring the others, while Declan Connor scored twice for New Life with Hamid Bellout getting the other. Junior Reds Seniors were the big winners of the division today, smashing 8 past Turk Ogaci Limassol Russellers. Oliver Black hit three, while Marco Franzini, Jordan McTigue, Ali Musa, Reece Bailey and Daniel Patterson-Scott were all on target; Nicholas Golding got the sole consolation for the visitors.

In the Supreme Engraving Senior Division, two goals from Michael Bright and one from Rickie Martin gave Cutty Sark a 3-2 win over Phoenix Knights. Aiden Fernandez and Andrew Ridgers were on target for Phoenix. Five separate scorers as Bostall Old Boys overcame Woolwich Spartans 5-2. Ben Blackmun, Peter and Terry Tyrell, Ben Waller and Adam Williams all on target for Bostall.

In Division One, Old Roan Red Lions remain top with a 3-1 win over Woodside Celtic, Danny Lawson, George Stuart and Tim Curtis scoring the goals. Steven Armstrong, Lee Cullen and John Townrow were all on target to keep FC Plasma in 2nd spot with a 3-0 win over Bexley Athletic, New London are 4th after a 3-1 win over Woolwich Royals, Jason Hammett scoring twice with Jerry Reeves getting the 3rd. Teviot Rangers are 5th after an Owen Jeavons hat-trick gave them a 3-1 win over Mottingham Park Rangers.

Division Two and a day for Mottingham Forest to push to the backs of their memories. James Beasley scored 4, Ben Malyon and Brandan James hat-tricks as Forest collapsed to a 15-0 defeat. The top two met, and 90 minutes was unable to separate the two teams as Kent Wanderers and Advent Royals drew 3-3 in a thrilling match. Nick McGinty scored twice to take his season's total to 42, while Wilfred Penmeni weighed in with another goal; for Advent Royals Cephason Anderson, Kwadwo Gyimah and Conor Mansfield were on target. 3rd placed Bayswater RK hit Sutcliffe Rangers for 6 with Jason Gardiner scoring a hat-trick in a 6-3 win. At The Pavilion, goals from Hasan Gunduz, Gary McKenna and Balazs Szucs saw Lessa FXI beat Meridian Sports 3-1. Two goals from Charlie Troke saw Springhill Reserves beat AFC Kingfisher 2-1, while Vanbrugh also disposed of Borussia Heath by the same score.
