Well it's been a while, and apologies for the delay, but sometimes real life takes over!
Anyway, time for a round up of week 22, and firstly London FA Cup. We still had two representatives in the last 16 of the London Sunday Junior Cup, Premier Division Jam hosted London Ravens, and a second half strike from Emmanuel Soile sealed a 1-0 win for the WESFA side to set up a last 8 tie at Greenhouse London.
Woolwich 90 of the Senior Division hosted East London based FC BKT. Danny Cotterill scored twice for the home side but at 90 minutes the scores were level meaning the dreaded Penalty Shoot Out, as there is no extra time at this stage of the London Cup. It was the WESFA side who held their nerve to progress 4-2 on penalties, to face an away tie at Clapham based Wheatsheaf Athletic.
The Plumstead Challenge Cup 1st round match between Woolwich Spartans and Baldon Sports of the LKSL was finally resolved after LFA ruled after the abandonment in extra time of the 1st attempt at this game back in October. Adam Roberts and Al Ameen Amodu both score twice for Woolwich Spartans, along with Jack Oliver and Billy Grainger, but somehow the Spartans managed to surrender a 4-2 half time lead to lose 6-8. Baldon Sports now progress to their 2nd round tie against Jam on 5th March, meanwhile shock of the day goes to Division 2 highfliers Bayswater RK, who went to Old Roan Red Lions, Division One leaders and left with a 4-1 after extra-time win, to set up a home tie against Abbey Wood also of Division One. Bradley Johnson, Dollard Zola, Jack Smith & Joseph Grant-Hines with the goals for the Division Two side. Also progressing to the 4th round are Club Santacruzense De Londres, after a 7-3 win over holders Junior Reds Seniors. Abel Viera scored twice, with Vitor Abreu, Telmo Jesus, Ricardo Andres, Emanuel Ferreira and Ivandro Rodrigues also on target. Santacruzense now face Welling Town Woolwich in the next round.
Plenty of goals in the Dewar Shield, a Ben Blackmun hat-trick, a brace from Danny Harris and goals from Terry Tyrrell, Adam Williams & Dammian Botello secured a 8-2 win for Bostall Old Boys Blues over Abbey Wood to set up a Quarter Final tie against Springhill United who progress past Welling Town Woolwich courtesy of a 3-2 win. Patrick Ward, Danny Shaw and Ricky Evans scoring the goals for Springhill. Meanwhile Long Lane hit Division 2 leaders Advent Royals for six thanks to a Tom Rush hat-trick; Jimmy Tran, Steven Smith and Jack Carthy weighed in with the others.
In the Amalgamated Lifts Limited Premier Division, just the one game, which saw Turk Ocagi Limassol Russellers take all the points away from New Life United thanks to 2 Jason Johns goals in a 2-1 win.
In the Supreme Engraving Senior Division, a hat-trick from Alex Potter saw Danson Albion send Phoenix Knights home pointless with a 4-0 win. At the other end of the table goals from Kye Trott, Wayne Gould and Ayo Johnson gave Plumstead AFC a shock 3-2 win over Maroon XI.
In Division One, goals from James Tester and Dennis Williams gave Woodside Celtic a 2-1 win over FC Plasma, while a hat-trick from Bradley Shepherd helped Baldon Sports Charlton to a 5-3 win over Royal Arsenal. Jake Meredith and Sam White also on target. A ding-dong game at Meridian Sports saw Bexley Athletic leave with all 3 points from Woolwich Royals, with Christopher Ficetola, Sean Jobson, Elton Lewis and Sam Sevenoaks scoring to secure a 4-3 win. Elsewhere Mottingham Park Rangers and New London shared six goals and the points in a 3-3 draw.
In Division Two, Kent Wanderers goal machine Chris McGinty kept hitting them in, another 4 today as Wanderers overcame Vanbrugh 6-2. Wilfred Penmeni scored the other 2 for the victors. Lessa FXI provided the surprise result of the day, beating Junior Reds Athletic 7-2, a Gary McKenna hat-trick helping them on the way. Harry Fox, Stephen Moseley, Thomas Podciborski and Richard Williams also on target. It was a case of so close yet so far for Mottingham Forest as they succumbed to the odd goal in 9 against Sutcliffe Rangers. Luke Cooke & Danny Mulcahy scored twice and Joshua Linger once to win the game. Two goals from David Scott and one from Danny Nicholl saw AFC Kingfisher beat bottom side Meridian Sports 3-0.
